The Catholic Community Council

TCU Catholic Community Vision Statement
Following Jesus as a Catholic Christian is a lifelong process of conversion and renewal. In any committed relationship, as individuals change, the relationship is reformulated.  Our relationship with Jesus is reformulated religiously, intellectually and morally as we change.  Our desire is to help Catholics at TCU to re-appropriate their faith – and to help them to mature as active, adult leaders in the faith communities of which they are members.

Mission Statement of the TCU Catholic Community
To provide a student-centered ministry that encourages Catholic students, faculty, staff and friends to live the Mystery of Life in faith, hope, and love.

Music

Stephen Kinch

The Sunday Mass Choir provides the Catholic Community with an ecclectic mix of music by performing traditional church hymns backed by instruments including piano, guitar, orchestral strings, and hand percussion. The choir is open to all students who have any musical inclination whatsoever. There is no commitment or pressure to participate every week. Any Sunday you have time, please feel free to join the Sunday Mass Choir in the Student Center Ballroom at 3:45 for their pre-Mass rehearsal.

“Why Catholic?” kicks off Fall 2009! And we’re excited! It’s Catholic faith deepening at its best. Practical & concrete – based on the Bible & the Catechism of the Catholic Church – Why Catholic? connects  Scripture & Church teachings to everyday life. In small groups, we’ll explore Catholic beliefs, the sacraments, morality and prayer.

Every other Friday, students from the Catholic Community go to St. Andrew's, a Catholic school just down the street from the campus. In the 45 minutes they are there, TCU students read to kids ranging from pre-k to 5th grade. This is wonderful opportunity for TCU students to get out in the community and make a difference with children of the area.
